Set in an acre of private land. The barn which is named after the lovely farmer who lived and worked the surrounding land, has been transformed from a once modest shepherd’s cottage. Retaining all the charm and features of an old property, warming oak beams, dry stone walls.

The Brecon and Monmouth Canal is very close at hand, with Goytre Whalf making a great morning stroll. Well located to explore the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean in one direction and the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons in the other. Located just 20 minutes from the Severn Bridge, with easy access to Cardiff, Monmouth, Usk and Abergavenny, perfect for the country shows and food festivals throughout the year. In the Welsh borderlands you will find Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, The Roman Fortress in Caerleon are all within easy reach The Big Pit is also well worth a trip with children, (free of charge), a chance to head underground in a real mine. Leisure facilities: private hot tub.

This open-plan accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size with views and 1 twin. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Separate WC on the ground floor. We had a lovely weekend stay, despite storm Bert. From the outset, Kath, the owner was amazing with communication and even came out to guide us in to the property on our arrival in the area. This property had been on my radar for 2yrs and it was everything we dreamed of when we arrived for our holiday Stunning location! Delightful private cottage and grounds very tranquil. Welcoming pub up the road 10min walk. Canoe hire goytre wharf 5min drive. Llangefni lake for paddleboarding 15min drive. Good local shopping in Abergavenny and PontyRead morepool both 15mins. An absolutely wonderful stay, so glad we found this property last minute. Immaculate inside, plenty of kitchen provisions. The grounds were lovely and our dog had the best time running round and exploring. We watched kingfishers on the pond and it's an ideal spot for stargazing. A lovely cottage in a stunning location. The large fenced garden was ideal for the dog. Kath, the owner, was extremely welcoming and helpful. Lots to do in the area and particularly enjoyed the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal which is very close to the cottage and the narrow boats could be seen chugging along the canal whilst sitting in the garden.

The cottage is in a beautiful position in a field with 360 views of countryside. It is immaculate, cosy, tidy and well equipped. Our favourite thing to do was spend time in the hot tub star gazing. Jack's Barn is set in a beautiful location, it was ideal for our Golden Retrievers who had the freedom and security to run free , which of course they did. The cottage was quaint well equipped, warm and welcoming. Our only bugbear was the master bed, so uncomfortable thin and without sounding too judgemental (overused). This is a beautiful cottage that is perfect! It was spotlessly clean, well maintained and very well equipped. We received a gorgeous welcome tray on arrival with local goods. Our 2 pups loved the outdoor space so much, they didn't want to come in! The duck pond is safely locked off but you can still see the ducks & we had a visit from a couple of bRead moreunnies.
