Located in pretty Beguildy with pub and shop, close to medieval Clun, the historic market towns of Knighton and Ludlow, spa town Llandrindod Wells and Newtown on the banks of the River Severn. All offer an array of activities, eateries’, independent shops, museums and galleries. Roam the 43 acre grounds designated as a Local Wildlife Site by Shropshire Wildlife Trust, join Glyndwr’s Way National Trail or Offa’s Dyke or choose one of the many footpaths, cycle routes and bridle ways through the majestic Welsh and rolling Shropshire Hills. Explore the Observatory Spaceguard Centre, The Judges Lodging and National Trust Powis Castle and Gardens to name but a few of the attractions. Perfect for a relaxing stay. The cottage is one of two adjacent cottages, that if booked together could provide accommodation for 4 people. The cottages are found at the top of a private drive, where there is no passing people or traffic, just sheep and wildlife. Children and dogs are allowed to roam freely and safely in the acre of fenced in garden. Guests and their dogs are free to wander around the 43 acres of grounds. There are many walks directly from the property, without having to drive anywhere. There is total peace and solitude, with fresh mountain air and pure spring water on tap.

The property has been lovingly refurbished, in 2017 and has flagstone floors and exposed beams greet you as you enter this charming property. The spacious and creative open-plan lounge/diner has a fabulous inglenook fireplace and wood burner taking centre stage. Relax on the comfy sofas watch your favourite TV programme on the Smart TV or a film on the DVD, listen to music and lose yourself in a good book or just embrace the wonderful view of rolling countryside. The dining table is well placed to enjoy a meal and discuss your plans for tomorrow. If you decide to eat in, the superb kitchen caters for all your needs with electric cooker, fridge, microwave oven, alongside thoughtful little extras creating a delightful space to prepare a meal. Upstairs you can truly relax in the lovely bathroom with shower over bath and WC and then retire to the welcoming super-king-size bedroom with freshly laundered linen and fluffy towels.

Outside there is a private, fenced garden.  Enjoy alfresco dining on the patio with furniture and BBQ or take a picnic on the lawn. Make the most of the stunning views from the private hot tub or explore the 43 acres of grounds. Shared laundry in the Pump House with washing machine and tumble dryer. Such a beautiful, truly dog-friendly cottage in a stunning location. We could not have asked for more from Julia, who looks after the property. Everything was provided for, and the garden was safe and fun for our three dogs of all sizes. Our dogs settled incredibly quickly, which meant we could relax and enjoy our time. Fabulous cottage with stunning views and walks from the doorstep and so much nature. The on site Manager Julia was very helpful with clear communication prior to and on arrival. This cottage is idylic, it has everything you could possibly want for a quiet time away with the dogs. Lots of space to explore with the dogs and the 2 acre enclosed field was fabulous. We had an amazing time at the cottage. We stayed a week and loved every day. Its super quiet and perfect relaxing escape. The hot tub was lovely, views amazing and lots of lovely walks. Local pub did really good food. Wifi was brilliant. There is only a 3ft fence between the properties so we kept our dog on lead in the garden (our Rottie puppy woulRead mored easily jump it), but the paddock was a massive hit with the dog able to run free safely. Tack cottage is beautiful. It has everything you need. Hot tub is brilliant. Judith the manager is always there to help if needed. It is a remote cottage so take plenty of supplies. Totally dog friendly. Enclosed garden and an enclosed field. Had a great week and would return and recommend.

What a little gem of a place to stay. The views are spectacular and we sat in the hot tub each evening overlooking perfection. We loved the quaint cottage that was very clean and had everything we needed. Our 2 dogs could go in the fenced off garden and to a nearby field when they could go off lead. What can I say, absolutely stunning, everything you need under 1 roof, they have thought of everything. Dave and Jenny so lovely and Julia too. They have Games, books, hairdryer, washing machine, iron. We took our 3 large dogs, so covered the sofa with throws and managed to wash them. The views are breathtaking. Would definitely go again.

The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. The cottage was perfect for my wife, baby and I. Loads of hot water, the hot tub was plenty warm enough and the location was wonderful. It is quite remote - but if you want seclusion this is the place for you.

The cottage is beautiful with its own enclosed garden, plus there is a field set aside for exercising the dogs which was perfect. Extremely comfortable cottage and lovely hot tub. What a lovely stay! The cottage was clean, comfortable and in an unbelievably peaceful location. The weather wasnt great but it meant we were able to use the log burner and it was so warm and cosy in the evenings. Delightful small but perfectly formed cottage for an away from it all break. Views are amazing, the log burner much appreciated after a walk with the dogs and the hot tub amazing at night! A perfect get away. Clean, well equipped cottage with lots of character. Amazing views from the cottage, and so peaceful. Fabulous gem on top of a hill, with open views over to Beguildy and the valley. Fridge in property and the use of a very large fridge freezer in the pump house. Dressing gowns were a plus along with towels, and a great log burner. Wood available along with charcoal for the bbq. Outdoor seating area, in addition , sun loungers and a large hot tub. Thank you so much to the Tack Cottage team. We were immediately made to feel welcome on arrival and enjoyed being invited to watch the pet sheep being sheered. The cottage itself is beautiful and is set in the most amazing surroundings (I didn't have to move the car whilst we were there as we could walk to the pub). We have stayed in a lot of different cottages across the country but this is our favourite! Beautiful location, huge bed, hot tub and everything you might need for a few days away. Not just dog friendly, it is positively dog welcoming. Our three dogs loved it!

I can not recommend this property enough, it truly is wonderful. We've had a great long weekend here celebrating my partners 30th birthday. We took our toddler, baby and 2 dogs and still plenty of space. Its in such a perfect location to relax in peace and quiet. Caroline the manager is lovely, very friendly, very helpful and welcoming. Second visit here and was just as lovely as we remembered it. Everything was spotless and cozy. Even though we got rained in, it was delightful to just relax in front of the fire and listen to the wind and rain outside. Loved our stay at Tack Cottage. Lovely rural location with great walks from your doorstep. Cottage was cosy with all the amenities we needed and the hot tub was amazing. The hosts were very helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here.
