  • Elegant country cottage in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, perfect for hikers and cyclists
  • Relax in the gorgeous bedroom with its own balcony overlooking the lush gardens
  • Delightful garden with established shrubs and meadow areas that envelops the house
Property code: BN157

Whether you’re a busy couple looking to explore the many walking and cycling trails in the area, or simply looking to relax in a country pub, the cottage is ideally placed. Local pubs are plentiful, the closest a mile away and several others within 3 miles too. It’s 2.5 miles to Llangorse Lake, which has two riding schools and an excellent activity centre with climbing walls and high-rope courses inside. It’s 5 miles to shops and restaurants in Brecon and about 7 miles to the start of popular routes up Pen y Fan.

Enter the house from the private drive within the grounds of the owners home. The open-plan downstairs has a bright airy feel and great views through the French doors to the garden. Relax in the elegant armchairs or on the comfy sofa, where a wood burner will warm you on chilly evenings and there’s a TV and DVD player for lazy nights in. The well-equipped kitchen has an electric cooker with induction hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, a washing machine and a stylish Belfast sink, as well as a rustic table to eat at. The shower room downstairs also has a stylish finish with an antique dresser and terracotta tiles. Enjoy the last of the evening sun with an after-dinner coffee outside before heading upstairs to the large king-size bedroom. Nestled in the eaves, the spacious room is flooded with light from both low-level windows and a door that opens onto a balcony with bistro table and chairs. Sit back with a morning coffee or an evening drink in this very lovely private spot overlooking the leafy garden.

The pretty garden has an unusual layout, wrapping itself around the house from the French doors downstairs up and around to the opposite side of the house. Edged with mature trees and shrubs, there are steps leading from the highest point down to the driveway or walk back to the cottage along the sloped lawns, and there's two differently located benches to make the most of the sunshine as it moves around the cottage.

  • 1 king-size bedroom with balcony overlooking gardens
  • 1 shower room with WC - downstairs
  • Electric oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. Access to freezer in shed

A lovely comfortable cottage in a great location to explore the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners were really helpful and friendly. We went with our dog who enjoyed all the mountain walks as well as exploring significant amounts of the MonmRead moreouthshire and Brecon canal nearby. We had a lovely active week here, but equally it is perfect to use as a base to relax and watch the birds. Hide

We had a lovely weeks stay in Finch Cottage. Owner Janet made us feel welcome on our arrival. It and everything in it was perfectly clean, with tasteful decor and very comfortable furniture. Care goes into the management of Finch Cottage which is lacking in many company maintained properties. We felt cosy in the cold weather and appreciated the wooRead mored burner. The garden was ideal for for our dog, as were the quiet roads around the cottage (with friendly neighbours). Hide

Lovely and peaceful. Very well equipped cottage in beautiful countryside. Managed a good 8+ hours sleep every night. Owners are nice people, and are non intrusive (house shares a drive with the cottage) . Good shower, very comfy bed.

Lovely access to the garden, which in turn is surrounded by beautiful countryside with easy walks from cottage. We will return soon. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay in Finch cottage. It was very peaceful and quiet providing a lovely relaxing break. The cottage was very comfortable, particularly the large bedroom area, and provided all the amenities for our stay with our small dog. I would definitely consider returning and recommend to friends.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful. We were made to feel so welcome and were so lucky to have chosen such a gorgeous setting for our mini break. The cottage is local to Brecon and close to plenty of stunning walks which we took full advantage of.

A beautiful little cottage away from the hussle & bussle of everyday life. Everything was well thought out and good quality. Clean, cute and very cosy, even though in August we didn't need to use the log burner!

A lovely welcoming cottage, equipped to a high standard. A real bonus having both a washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen. Beautiful garden which we had access to, so many birds to watch and daily visits from a squirrel. Great base for exploring and a nice pub only a short walk away up through the lanes.
