Nestled in a serene setting with a picturesque mountain stream flowing through its cottage garden, this charming two-bedroom property is a paradise for walking enthusiasts, offering miles of uninterrupted trails right from the doorstep. For cyclists, the nearby Taff Trail and the Henry Vaughan walk along the old Brynoyre railway track provide scenic routes through the valley. Just a mile away lies the quaint village of Talybont-on-Usk, where you can explore a canal, two rivers, a reservoir, woods and waterfalls. The village also features a general store with Post Office and café. There are two welcoming pubs serving food.

The entrance porch leads into a country-style kitchen, complete with an antique pine dresser, a dining table, and chairs. This well-equipped kitchen includes an electric double oven, microwave, and an American-style fridge freezer, perfect for preparing anything from quick snacks to formal meals. The conservatory offers a delightful spot to relax and enjoy the garden's abundant wildlife, with various birds and animals frequently visiting. The cozy sitting room, full of character with its exposed brickwork and beams, is an inviting space to unwind on comfortable sofas by the warmth of a wood burner. The bathroom on this level includes a bath, hand-held shower, and WC. From the kitchen, steep, traditional stone stairs wind up around the back of the fireplace to the first floor, where you'll find two spacious double bedrooms, each with an additional single bed. The second bedroom is accessed via another steep stone spiral staircase from the living room.

Step outside into the garden to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Enjoy a meal or drinks al fresco with the garden furniture and BBQ. The property includes a designated parking space for one car, with additional parking available nearby.

Please note that due to the unguarded stream running though the garden all children will require adult supervision at all times.

They say location is everything, this cottage is in a picture perfect spot but on our stay that was slightly let down by getting there in the dark and having only 3 logs, no kindling or matches, I always replace what I use and it was easy to replace nothing so no harm no foul, the cottage is as lovely inside as out, the stairs would be a nightmare Read morefor some folk who are not as mobile as they once were, overall we had a lovely stay, would give it a hard 3.9 out of 5 Hide

A beautiful cottage in the perfect tucked away location. We loved our stay and spent a very happy week sheltering from the heat while our children played in the stream. Lovely spot to switch off and relax and well situated to explore Brecon. We have already booked next years trip - let's hope we are as lucky again with the weather!

This cottage is unique - very quirky and wouldn't suit everybody, but it really suits me. Lovely cottage with lots of walks on your doorstep. Steps to bedroom are steep so not suitable for everyone. Everything you need for a quiet getaway for you and your dog. Lovely stream in garden.

The cottage is in a nice quiet position up a single track road. It is warm and comfortable but the steps up to each bedroom are small and steep so you have to be good on your feet. There is space for one small car to park outside the cottage but it is very difficult to turn around on the road.

This was our third stay at Old Mill Cottage, and we will definitely be back next year! This is the perfect cottage in the perfect setting - when you have a stream running through the garden and waterfall nearby, what more do you need? It's a lovely getaway cottage, and we so enjoyed the peace and quiet, nestled down in the valley.
