A beautifully presented Grade II-listed terraced cottage in historic Kington. Ideally located to pop out for provisions or walk out in the evening for a drink or meal without needing a car.

Kington is a historic market town on the English/Welsh border, a well-served town with a good selection of shops, pubs, and cafes. It’s a haven for walkers where you can join the walking festival in both springtime and autumn and offers walking at all levels, such as the Offa’s Dyke Path which runs through the town along with many other well-marked paths. Visit the National Trust’s Croft Castle and Berrington Hall. Head to the medieval castles in Ludlow and Stokesay or to the beautiful gardens at Hampton Court and Hergest Croft in Kington itself. Other places of interest include Leominster, famed for its variety of antique and curiosity shops, Ludlow, Hay-on-Wye, Presteigne, the Elan Valley Dams and the beautiful River Wye perfect for picnics and wild swimming.

Situated in a row of pretty cottages with an oak-framed storm porch, step inside to the entrance hall where you can leave your coat and boots behind. The lounge is situated off the hall with many original features, finished with fresh colours and a stylish twist. Here you can relax in front of the Smart TV after a day of exploring. A table and chairs set by the window is a perfect spot for a simple supper. Steps lead down to the kitchen which is finished in a contemporary style and well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The principal access to the first floor is via a straight oak staircase from the entrance hall. This offers access into the main king-size bedroom, a stunning room with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. Here you can enjoy a peaceful night’s rest. Several wooden steps lead from the bedroom down to a small landing from which there is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. There is also an additional single room that is perfect for friends travelling together. From the landing, a secondary steep oak spiral staircase takes you back down into the kitchen.

Outside there is a small, enclosed garden to the front of the property. A table and chairs are provided from where you can watch the world go by. There is roadside parking subject to availability.

Lovely property in a friendly small town . Small outdoor seating area at front of the property was a bonus and parking was easy . The cottage was lovely and we enjoyed the walks in the area. The village has a Delli and some nice shops, you just have to take note of the opening times.

Property was cold (and we are used to being frugal with heating). Radiators are too small and didn't get very hot. Also not enough power points in living room. No music system provided and nowhere to plug ours in. That said, lots of good quality design features - kitchen, beds, floors etc
