Lovingly decorated barn conversion boasting home comforts for a family of four in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, with further properties hosting additional guests on this working sheep farm.

With its Dark Skies Reserve status, varied landscapes and unforgettable walking and hiking routes, the Brecon Beacons National Park boasts everything you need for a stay in rural Wales. Head out and find endless walks from the doorstep, summiting Pen y Fan (14 miles) or travelling to the region’s Black Mountain range (30 miles). Fishermen will rejoice with fishing on the River Crai available on the estate and the Usk Reservoir (7 miles) not far for salmon and brown trout fishing, whilst younger guests will enjoy tending to the sheep on the owner’s farm or taking a trip to the nearby National Showcaves Centre for Wales (8.5 miles).

Reached via some steps, head inside this stylishly converted 200-year-old stone barn to find plenty of contemporary and original features, including exposed stone walls alongside modern and homely furniture. On arrival, step into the spacious kitchen where electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine offer everything you need to make yourselves at home. This room opens out into an open-plan living and dining room, where a table set for four is the perfect place to enjoy meals together. The cosy lounge boasts comfortable seating, TV/DVD, CD player, a selection of books and games for you to enjoy together. Continue onto the first floor to find two bedrooms, both with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and sloping ceilings. A spacious master bedroom has an en-suite with shower and WC, whilst across the hall, the twin bedroom has an en-suite with shower over bath and WC. Both bathrooms benefit from heated towel rails and the bedrooms are well-equipped with handy storage and antique-style furniture.

You will find a small patio area to the side of the property, where an outdoor dining set and BBQ offer a great spot for an al fresco evening outdoors. Be sure to make use of the shed to store bikes and sports equipment, and feel free to roam the surrounding farmland.

This property is not only gorgeous, but homey and cosy. The cottage was a lovely space to come back to and relax after a long day of hiking and exploring local areas, which were stunning. A beautifully presented cottage with absolutely everything you would need for your stay. Plenty of walks in and around the area. Would recommend climbing Pen-y-fan for the views, the four waterfall walk is natures finest walk, the Brecon Steam Railway is a special treat with picturesque views, Brecon Cathedral is seeped in history and the tea room Read morehas the best tea and cake!! We really enjoyed our week at Rye Barn. The property was well laid out, the beds comfortable and it had everything we needed for our stay. If you like great views and peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Lovely one week holiday! The accommodation is perfectly set in the peaceful Welsh countryside. Plenty to do around the area within 20-30 mins drive (waterfall walk, caving, steam railway, monkey sanctuary, canal boating to name a few we did). The farm cottage has everything you need for self catering. Bathrooms are also great with good shower facilRead moreities. Amazing accommodation in a stunning rural location. The cottage was comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped. Amazing location with fantastic views. Lots of walks and places to see within reasonable travelling distance. Beware of the locals on the lanes though, they don't take any prisoners.

The barn was beautifully presented and very comfortable. We enjoyed staying on the farm, taking some evening walks there with beautiful views and seeing the animals. A beautiful barn in peaceful surroundings. The property has its own old charm of small wondows and beams. Kitchen had all the modern appliances that you would want to use in self catering accommodation. Both ensuite bathrooms updated to quality standard.
