Cottage in a nice remote rural area. No shops/pubs/restaurants within easy walking distance, although not a problem for us. Small gripe; the outside spaces of the cottage did not benefit from some of the views in the pictures that were used to advertise it. The view from the terrace off the bedroom was partly of cars parked outside other propertiesRead more & their rubbish bins. Overall the cottage has been finished to a good standard & provided a good base for exploring the area; we had a nice break. Hide

Perfect spot, the balcony does actually look over a courtyard and not fields, that said the views from the garden area were fantastic The stream needs a good weeding but may not be responsibility of the owners as it the other side of the fence If you want peace and quiet I fully recommend

Very pleased with 'Thy Smithy', the facilities provided, its condition and appearance. It was such a tranquil retreat to relax or chill out after a day's activity. It proved to be an excellent base to explore the countryside and places of interest. There was also the added historical significance of its location - The Battle of Bryn Glas (also knowRead moren as the Battle of Pilleth). It is a place I would return to on another occasion. Hide

The cottage is lovely in a beautiful setting and is fully equipped with everything required. The nearest town with shops, facilities and pubs is around four miles away. There are some lovely walks near the cottage and a visit to the church on the hillside is recommended for the views alone. An ideal place to relax and enjoy the countryside.

Well equipped cottage, but in need of a refresh . Lovely location. The church on the hill is a must see, and is the best vantage point from which to see the stunning views across the valley. The spiral staircase should be used with care.
